Margarita glasses
Even
once you have made your margarita concoction, you are not done until
you have lined the rims of your margarita glasses with salt. Some bartenders
only salt half the rim, stating that a fully salted rim is used by other
bartenders to cover up the bad taste of bad tequila. So, how do you
salt margarita glasses?
First of all, it is best not to use basic table salt – buy salt
made specifically for the purposes. This salt is coarser, and it generally
comes in a container that is wide enough to fit the rim of your margarita
glasses. Before you pour in the margarita mix, take a lime and rub the
rims of your glasses with it. This will make the salt stick to the glass.
If you only want salt on half the rim, only use the lime on half of
it. Then simply turn the glasses upside down and dip tem into the salt.
Then you can pour the margaritas – whether shaken with ice or
frozen, etc – into the glasses, being careful so as not to knock
the salt off into the drink. Place the lime on the rim and serve!
